Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University continues to produce value with its global academic achievements, solution-oriented projects for social issues, and its pioneering role in the social, cultural, and economic development of our city since its establishment.
In these days when we are rightfully proud of being among the top 1000 universities in the world in international rankings; we would like to express our deep sorrow in the face of false and baseless allegations in the public, and that we reserve our legal rights against these unfounded claims.
The allegations against our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, such as "hiring first-degree relatives, providing priority in space allocation in the technopark, and making unjust revolving fund payments through assignments" do not reflect the truth. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar has no relatives hired during his tenure as vice-rector or rector at our university. Additionally, during his vice-rectorship and rectorship, there has been no assignment, relocation, or privileged practice to enable his relatives or close ones to benefit from revolving fund revenues.
Currently, there are 37 companies operating within the Technopark. 16 of these companies belong to our university's academicians. Since our Rector took office, 19 companies have started operations in the Technopark. Establishing a company is a legal right open to all faculty members and is not exclusive to any group. As of now, there is no applicant waiting for space allocation. Space allocations are made transparently in order of application and within possibilities.
The academic promotion and appointment processes at our university are conducted entirely within the framework of legal regulations, without any political, ethnic, or nepotistic discrimination, and with the principles of merit and fairness, as is known to the entire academic community and the public of Burdur. Despite our transparent and appreciated management approach, we strongly reject the baseless accusations directed at us.
We would also like to state that the recent claim that Burdur Municipality's requests for space allocation for organizing events were rejected does not reflect the truth. Our university, as a constitutional public institution, offers all its facilities to the service of all segments of society within the framework of legal and general moral purposes, depending on availability. We inform the public of Burdur that space allocation has been made for 29 events organized by Burdur Municipality since 2024, and 4 events planned for 2026 are already on our calendar.
We will continue to work tirelessly, with determination and perseverance, to elevate our university to its deserved place, day and night.
Respectfully,
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rectorate
